Dear Bayfield School District Students and Families,

It is our pleasure to welcome everyone back for another great year at Bayfield. We are excited to have students back in our classrooms ready for another enthusiastic and energetic year. When you arrive at school you are going to notice many new faces among staff, as well as former staff members in many new positions. The first full day of school for all students is September 1st. Open house for K-5 is Monday, August 31st. August 31st is orientation day at school for sixth and ninth grade students and new students in MS/HS. It will be an early release day with sixth grade and ninth grade students loading the buses at 12:40 p.m. New MS/HS students can set up a tour with our high school counselor, Mr. Brian Boyd, extension 502. 

The School District of Bayfield is committed and dedicated to providing the best education possible for each student in the district. The staff strives to create and maintain a positive, productive, and safe environment for all. We are continuing the “No Phone Zones” for all of our K-12 students for the fifth year. Families can help by practicing “no phone” times before our return. It’s amazing what tech-free time does for socialization. 

The start of the school year is an exciting and busy time. We highly encourage families and students to utilize our district’s web page, the Infinite Campus Family Portal, and our Facebook page. Our staff will continuously post upcoming events and school news as it happens throughout the school year. The district website is www.bayfield.k12.wi.us

Here are some important dates for our first quarter:

August 31 Orientation day for grades 6 & 9, as well as new students. Open House for K-5 students. 

September 1 First full day of school for K-12 students.

September 4 K-12 Early Release

September 7 No School/Labor Day

September 25 K-5 Students - NO SCHOOL

October 2 Early Release, 12:45 p.m. Staff Professional Prep

October 5 No School/Staff In-Service

October 12 No School/Indigenous Peoples Day

October 21 K-5 Family Night/6-12 Conferences 

November 2 K-5 Students - NO SCHOOL

November 6 K-12 Early Release/End of First Quarter
